Our legitimate interests in improving PuppyPal are keeping the service reliable, functional and secure, and improving the user experience. We balance these against your rights and interests.
Where we rely on consent — for example for optional marketing emails — you can withdraw that consent at any time in your settings or by contacting us, without affecting other processing.
Payments for PuppyPal subscriptions are processed by Paddle. Paddle acts as Merchant of Record for purchases made through PuppyPal, meaning Paddle is responsible for processing the transaction, collecting payment, handling applicable sales taxes/VAT, issuing payment documentation and providing certain billing and refund services.
When you purchase PuppyPal Pro, Paddle may independently collect and process information such as:
- Name
- Email address
- Billing information
- Payment method information
- Billing address
- Country/location for tax purposes
- Transaction information
- Subscription status
PuppyPal does not receive or store complete payment card details when payments are processed through Paddle. We receive limited information such as your subscription status, plan, renewal date and a payment provider reference so we can give you access to Pro features.
Paddle processes personal information under its own privacy notice for activities where Paddle acts as an independent controller, including payment processing, fraud prevention and tax compliance.
Paddle Privacy NoticePhotos you upload remain linked to your account and are only used within PuppyPal unless you choose to share them.
Any information you voluntarily publish within community areas may be visible to other users.
We protect your information using encrypted connections, secure authentication, row-level access controls and secure cloud infrastructure.
Although no online service can guarantee complete security, we apply appropriate technical and organisational measures and review them as the service develops.
We keep personal data only for as long as it is necessary for the purposes it was collected for, including:
- Providing and maintaining an active account
- Keeping the records you have asked PuppyPal to keep for your dog
- Security and abuse prevention
- Fraud prevention
- Legal, tax and accounting requirements
- Establishing, exercising or defending legal claims and resolving disputes
When you delete your account, your personal data will be deleted or anonymised within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain certain records — for example transaction records kept for legal or accounting purposes. Backups are cycled out in the ordinary course.
Where UK GDPR applies to you, you have the following rights in relation to your personal data:
- Right of access — a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Right to rectification — correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
- Right to erasure — deletion of your data in certain circumstances
- Right to restrict processing
- Right to object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Right to data portability
- Right to withdraw consent where processing relies on consent
- Rights relating to certain automated decision-making and profiling
You can exercise most of these rights directly in the app, or by emailing us. We will respond within the time limits set by law.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
Complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk)PuppyPal is a puppy and dog care application for dog owners, not a service directed at children.
You must be at least 16 years old to create a PuppyPal account, which matches the age requirement in our Terms & Conditions. If you are under 18 you should use PuppyPal with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone below that age. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
PuppyPal currently integrates with:
- Supabase — database, authentication and file storage
- Lovable — application hosting and AI gateway
- Google Gemini models — AI Coach, plans and insights, via the AI gateway
- Open-Meteo — weather information for walk planning
- Paddle — subscription payments as Merchant of Record
- Your device's location services — optional walk tracking
These services process data under their own privacy notices.
Paddle Privacy NoticeSome of our service providers process personal data outside the United Kingdom, including in the European Economic Area and the United States.
Where a transfer takes place, we rely on legally recognised safeguards, such as:
- UK adequacy regulations for the destination country
- The UK International Data Transfer Agreement, or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses
- Other transfer mechanisms recognised under UK data protection law
We do not claim that your data always remains within the UK, because our infrastructure and AI providers may process it elsewhere.
We may update this Privacy Notice periodically.
Significant changes will be reflected by updating the Last Updated date and, where appropriate, notifying users within the app.
